Dr. Norley's Chiropractic

What is Chiropractic Treatment?

Chiropractic treatment is based on the concept that restricted movement in the spine may lead to pain and reduced function.

Spinal adjustment (manipulation) is one form of therapy chiropractors use to treat restricted spinal mobility. The goal is to restore spinal movement and, as a result, improve function and decrease pain.

How will Dr. Norley help me?

"It's actually quite simple," said Robert F. Heary, MD, Neurosurgery Today Spine Editor and a neurosurgeon in New Jersey. "In about 90 percent of all low back pain cases, a nerve that travels from the spinal cord through the bones of the spine gets pinched or irritated, the muscles tense up and the patient experiences low back pain. The solution depends on why the nerve is irritated in the first place."

Chiropractors Restore Function by Gently Adjusting the Spine

Methods vary from light touch, to machine controlled contact. The intent of the adjustment is to remove interference from the nervous system. When normal function is restored, the body can work at an optimal level and can handle stress effectively.

Dr. Norley's procedures include:

  • Electrical Stimulation (sometimes with the addition of heat treatment)
  • Ultrasound
  • Cox Flexion Distraction
  • Adjustments - Traditional and Activator
